Background
It is often difficult to balance high growth rates in immature
heifers whilst maintaining good health and immunity status. The
heifer must be able to cope with the stressful demands of entering
the milking herd.

Micro-nutrients
can play an important role in ensuring health and immunity are
strengthened. This balance is often difficult to achieve with
conventional feedstuffs/minerals.

Research
work has shown that organically chelated trace elements,
where the mineral is bonded to an essential amino acid,
can improve utilisation by the heifer. Trace element imbalances
can either be naturally ocurring or induced. The 'lock-up'
of trace elements by heavy metals may lead to metabolic, immunity
or production disorders.
